Do you think i was to harsh on this bug?

well i found a bug in my room and i grabbed it in my deodorant cap and filled my sink up with water and soap and threw it in there and then later when i took it out it was motionless so i tried dissecting it with a needle you use for sowing and well i managed to rip a wing off so i just then threw it in the trash.
