Does Beavers Harmful To Humans?

Recently some beaver attacks have been reported in the northern parts of US. those beavers attacked three people and that animal is tested for possible rabies and sad to say they are positive making them as one of the harmful rodents that may bite children's playing on parks. What do you think why beavers are doing this?
