Gahh rat dissection..?
Hello, I am in AP biology and we are currently dissecting rats. Don't get me wrong, I find the whole dissection thing very interesting and exciting, but I CAN'T STAND the smell. I'm actually not very squeamish, but the problem is we did frog dissections last year in Honors biology and after the experience, I could not eat any cured meats, especially ham. The smell of the preservative (chloroform, I believe) smelled/tasted/olfacted(?) exactly like a stronger version of cured meats. Whenever I ate any, it strongly reminded me of the dissected frog and then I would imagine that I was eating the frog meat and... well yeah. Any tips on how to cope with my problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
