In your opinion whats the best small rodent you can have as a pet?

I love rats. To me, rats are the dogs of the rodent world. They are friendly, they are sociable, they love interaction with their humans, they are very trainable, I honestly love rats. They get a bad wrap from people who can't get the fact that there IS a difference between domestic and wild rats, and domestic rats are awesome.
