My daughter killed a frog after hearing about dissection in school...?

Yesterday my 9 year old daughter found a frog outside. She carried it around for a while and then decided to kill it and dissect it like she had heard about in school. Now all the neighbors are getting on her case for it. I told her that it was wrong and that she shouldn't have killed it, but I also feel that I shouldn't discourage her curiosity. I gave her a few search options for virtual frog dissections online but I'm wondering if I should be worried? She did it for the sole purpose of her curiosity of dissections, not to be cruel. Any thoughts?
