What are the effects of being heterozygous or homozygous on the survival of an organism?
The red rat has 51 pairs of chromosomes, twice the normal amount of chromosome pairs for that rodent family. In relation to genetic diseases and survival, how can being heterozygous/homozygous affect the survival of the organism?
