What breed of cat should I look into?

I've been needing a cat for forever and I don't know what certain breed of cat I need so, I'll tell you a few things and If you can, please help. My Grandma found some stray kittens with their mother that do not have an owner, so me and my Mom were going to go to my Grandmas to look at them and get one. **We need a cat that can live in outdoor conditions ( We live in Oklahoma ) , gets along with dogs and has a talent at killing mice and other pest or rodents.** Anyways, we were going to go to my Grandma's today to get a kitten but turns out she hasn't seen them in a few days but she has seen the mother. So, I was thinking someone had already picked them up. I was looking into adopting a kitten from a shelter but, my mom doesn't want to. Also, my cousin works at a Shelter and but she doesn't have any at the moment. But, what I'm really asking is, what kind of cat.... is suited for outdoor, Oklahoma weather conditions, gets along with other animals and children, and can kill mice?
